We are civil trial lawyers. We counsel and represent people and companies through all stages of the dispute resolution process, from claims and investigations, through the pretrial discovery process, in settlement negotiations, at trial and through appeal.
THE CIVIL LITIGATION PROCESS
A dispute begins with a notice of claim served upon an adverse party. A notice of claim begins a formal process of a dispute, in which the parties are advised of the intention of an aggrieved person to make a claim for money damages against others. Insurance companies are identified notified, claims personnel respond, and the claimant’s lawyer becomes the point person for all communications and negotiations.
We represent the victims of personal injuries, and work hard for them to win fair compensation.
Injuries and accidents impact lives suddenly, painfully, disruptively and permanently. Without warning, lives are interrupted. Body and mind are afflicted with pain. Medical care, surgery and hospitalization are required. Employment is curtailed, family relationships are impaired. Family finances are depleted, emotional health and support are affected.
DEFENSE OF INJURY AND EMPLOYMENT LAWSUITS
We have partnered with businesses and insurance companies to defend and win
claims arising from:
Motor vehicle collisions
Medical and psychiatric malpractice
Dental and orthodontic malpractice
Equipment and product malfunctions
Industrial and workplace accidents
We represent people and companies in worker’s compensation claims and navigate the complexities of the worker’s compensation system, helping our clients to win their cases.
Injuries in the workplace are an all-too common occurrence. When they happen, working people are suddenly left without income to support themselves and their families. Injured workers must spend their time getting medical attention instead of making a living. Pain and disability disrupt their lives. They cannot enjoy time with their families. The future is suddenly unclear.
PROBATE LITIGATION AND WILL CONTESTS
The death of a family member or other loved one is a traumatic event. It is made more difficult by the inability of those left behind to agree on the distribution of an estate. The decedent’s family, friends, life partners, business associates and others who had relations may each have an interest in the appointment of an estate representative, and in the distribution of the estate property.
Disputes in the workplace can lead to prolonged conflict, termination of employment, and losses that are both economic and emotional. A wide variety of claims can arise
from these disputes, including employment discrimination, breach of contract, whistleblowing, non-payment of wages, and wrongful termination.
BUSINESS LAW COUNSELING AND LITIGATION
Legal aspects of business are as varied as the types of business conducted in our community. Legal counseling is necessary and valuable for advisory and precautionary purposes, to prevent conflict from arising. If disputes arise with other businesses, customers or employees, legal advice is invaluable and necessary to contain and resolve them.
